Weird Word Pad Issue

If there's anyone else who still uses Word Pad, I would appreciate some help. lol

I pasted a bunch of text from a web page into adocument. The text had many links that did not paste correctly in Word Pad, so I eventually just copied the names of the links in by hand. But the last time I pasted in some text, I got to the end of the document and found myself confronted with what appeared to be a bunch of blank lines. I knew there was supposed to be text there, and I didn't understand where all the blanks had come from. I did many up-arrows but couldn't find any text. Then I did a down-arrow and found myself at the end of the document, despite the number of times I pressed the up-arrow. I tried to erase what I'd pasted in, but the back-space key made the noise that signals that you're at the top of a document. I went all the way to the top of the file and found everything that I'd already pasted in. It's as if there's a smaller document attached to the bottom of the bigger one or something, and I can't get it to go away.

Sorry if I didn't explain this well. Haha.

Hi Becky.
The only thing that comes to mind at the moment for me is that you have word wrap so to wrap to window. To check to be sure that you do, open word pad and then hit alt v for the view sub menu and then arrow up to options. You should land on the rich text tab. Then, press tab once to make sure that the second radio button is checked, called wrap to window or something very similar. Alternatively, use hj pad. If you run jaws, this is a word processor that comes with the screen reader. If you want to give it a try, let me know and I can give you instructions on bringing it up. It's basically a compromise between word and notepad and includes a spell checker among other things.
